Essential Duties and Responsibilities: We are currently seeking a Benefits Administrator to perform plan administrator duties for all of our Client's Retirement Plans in support of the HR Service Center.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze, design and develop policies covering all group North American retirement plans.
- Ensure proper funding of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
- Maintain continuous review of retirement benefits to ensure equity with competitive market and current benefit trends and to meet legislative mandates and guidelines.
- Make recommendations to senior management regarding matters related to retirement plans.
- Coordinate selection and supervision of benefit providers, consultants, brokers, and necessary legal assistance.
- Provides the day-to-day administration of all 401(k) and Pension Plans.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state benefits laws and tax codes.
- Serves as the main contact for Fidelity Investments for all 401(k) Plans.
- Serves as the main contact for Fidelity Investments for American Meter Pension Plans.
- Serves as the main contact for Manulife for the Canadian Meter DC Plan.
- Interpret and explain policies, procedures and plan designs for 401(k) and Pension plans.
- Assists participants with general plan questions: i.e., loans, hardships, withdrawals, enrollments, etc.
- Ensures Summary Plan Descriptions are up to date and published on the company intranet.
- Handles inbound/outbound electronic files between payroll/record keeper/actuaries on an as needed basis.
- Coordinate the gathering of data with auditors and record keeper on testing of plans and the completion of 5500's.
- Responsible for partnering with record keeper on amendments to plans and driving changes as appropriate.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area and over five years of prior experience in the Benefits field-specifically 401(k) and Pension Administration.
- Prior experience handling compliance requirements, benefits tax codes and government regulations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the capability of providing group presentations and written retirement materials.
- Working knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint is required.
- The ability to work as a team within the HR, IT, Accounting/Finance and Legal groups on retirement issues.
- Solidify working relationships with outside contacts which include TPA's, brokers, consultants, actuaries, auditors, etc.
- Provide customer service to all active employee locations and retirees.
