Client Synopsis:

Full Scale Solutions is currently recruiting for the following position located in Raleigh-Durham, NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position contributes to the Company success by maintaining accountability for the Company’s accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Company’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, project based accounting, etc.
  • Develop, improve and issue timely quarterly financial records for Executive Team and Board of Directors.
  • Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms.
  • Assure that assets are not adversely encumbered with personal guarantees or unrealistic commitments.
  • Work closely with Executive Team in the development and economic evaluation of various fringe benefit programs for staff and program components.
  • Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies.
  • Report to the Board of Directors when necessary in writing and verbally.
  • Prepare budgets for all departments by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommending plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, advising management on necessary actions.


  • BS/BA in Accounting, with 4-6 years of experience working in the finance department in the life sciences industry is a must.
  • MA/MS in Accounting/Finance, MBA, CPA a plus.
  • Small company (start-up) company experience.
  • Work experience with a contract research organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of business transactions and accounting procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience to manage one direct report.
